Pokémon 151 — the special set that brought Kanto back
Pokémon 151 landed in 2023 as a special set celebrating the original Kanto Pokémon. It's not part of the main Scarlet & Violet booster lineup — it's a standalone product with its own booster packs, ETB, and UPC. The set includes the full 151, plus full arts, illustration rares, and special illustration rares. Nostalgia drives demand; the chase cards (Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, Mew, Mewtwo) command premiums. We're not telling you to buy or sell — we're laying out the set structure and what to expect.
Product types
151 came in booster bundles (six packs), ETBs, and an Ultra Premium Collection (UPC) with promos and extra packs. Booster packs are also available in three-pack blisters and other products. Supply has been printed to demand; prices have settled from early spikes. Sealed 151 product holds value for collectors who want to crack or hold.
Chase cards
The big hits: Charizard ex (special illustration rare), Blastoise ex, Venusaur ex, Mew ex, and Mewtwo in various rarities. The SIR Charizard is the crown jewel — it's the card that drives box cracks. Illustration rares for classic Pokémon (Alakazam, Gengar, Ninetales) also move. Erika's Invitation and other supporter full arts round out the chase.
Sealed vs singles
If you want specific cards, singles are almost always cheaper than cracking. If you enjoy opening or want sealed for the long term, booster bundles and ETBs are the main options. Check TCGPlayer for current 151 sealed and singles prices. We're not telling you to buy or sell — we're giving you the structure. Happy cracking.
